Tory Coates

Advisor

Tory has a lot of experience working with food, starting with a life-long passion for eating! This developed into an interest in food waste and food poverty, between 2009-2012 when she worked for FoodCycle in the UK in various positions from Volunteer Manager- Programmes Manager.  She had a key role in building the company to what it is today, earning several awards in the process.

Leaving FoodCycle to pursue a career in teaching, Tory qualified in the UK and taught at an inner city London school before deciding she had had enough of the long dreary UK winters and decided to move to be with her partner Sam, who has been working in Kuala Lumpur for the past four years. Tory's main interests are cooking, reading, travelling and most of all running where she has completed several half marathons and one full marathon.   She hopes to provide her knowledge of the FoodCycle model in the UK to the team in KL.
